The GSIS Senior Library is an extended classroom and a guided learning area for all members of our community. WE aim to create an active learning environment for our students. The Library Assistant will support the Librarian in the day-to-day operations of the senior library. This will include managing the issuing and returning of the materials and over due’s, maintaining the library in good order, cataloguing, and processing the materials, handling day-to-day enquiries, and updating displays.

 REQUIREMENTS

• a degree/diploma in Library and Information Science (or similar degree)
• recent working experience in a school library
• up-to-date ICT skills
• excellent English language skills (spoken and written)
• good interpersonal skills with a proven ability to relate well to teenagers and adults
• good organisational skills and ability to work professionally during busy times
• be able to work as part of a team
