Our client is a leading manufacturer of consumer products with business across the globe. To support its operations within the region, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic talent to join its packaging division in Hong Kong.

Reporting to the Director, you will oversee research, development, costing and quality assurance of plastic packaging materials. You will act as a technical expert to help resolving any technical and quality issues arise from product development to production stage. You will collaborate with design team, understand the design objectives and suggest the most suitable plastic materials and suppliers for each project. At regional level, you will drive new initiatives across process efficiency, materials sourcing and selection, and cost saving within plastics packaging category.

Successful candidate will possess the following competencies and attributes:

• University degree in Materials Science, Chemistry or Engineering
• At least 12 years of production or engineering experience in plastic, preferably from plastic packaging or manufacturing field
• In-depth knowledge on thermoplastic materials, e.g. PET, PP, PE and flexible films; and production process e.g. thermoforming, film extrusion and lamination/ coating techniques etc.
• Independent, proactive and with regional exposure
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; with ability to manage multiple projects in parallel
• Fluency in English and Mandarin is essential
