Job Description

Purpose and Objective of Position

We are looking for a UX/UI professional who is passionate about design; a practitioner who can create appealing products that is intuitive to use. The candidate should be an advocate of user-centered design practices, have an eye for details and ability to design thoughtful micro-interactions. The candidate should be able to identify the needs between business and user, work closely with development teams to design the best solutions. The candidate will be involved in every step of the project/development process from ideation to design, build and test.

 

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Work closely with project stakeholders to conceptualize new product features based on user needs.
  • Lead the UX Design (UI behaviour & interaction) and Visual Design for web and mobile applications.
  • Define personas, information architecture, navigation models, work flows & content outlines.
  • Communicate design ideas via sketches, scenarios, storyboards, flow diagrams, wireframes, prototypes, visual mock-ups.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders, product owners, business analysts and developers to deliver effective design solutions that are feasible, meet current requirements and can scale for future releases.
  • Validate design solutions internally (with stakeholders) and externally (with customers) and incorporate results and feedback in a rapid iterative design process.
  • Manage UX/UI design libraries – define, produce and update UI specs, style guides, design templates, visual assets and UI patterns.
  • Design user experience for websites, mobile apps and in-store digital touch-points.
  • As a customer ambassador, you will promote user centric design and simplicity among your colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Manage UX Team and UX vendors

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required

Educational Requirements

Degree in Design/Communications/Human-Computer Interaction or related fields.

 

Work Experience

At least 5 years relevant work experience in responsive Web (desktop/tablet/smartphone) and Mobile Apps design for E-Commerce and transactional applications.

 

Critical knowledge & skills including tools, software applications, language, etc.

  • Strong knowledge of principles and guidelines related to UCD, Information Architecture, Usability, UI and Interaction Design and Visual Design – with knowledge of Chinese market.
  • Experience with user research methods such as Usability Test, Card Sorting, A/B & Multivariate Testing.
  • Highly proficient with design and prototyping tools such as Adobe Photoshop, Axure, Invision, etc.
  • Ability to integrate UX into Agile development practices.
  • A great portfolio that explains the approach taken, process and design rationale.
  • Attention to details, good organizational skills, strong analytical & problem solving skills and ability to accurately set, manage and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication, inter-personal and presentation skills. Ability to present designs and drive consensus and negotiate trade-offs effectively.
  • Experience at working with HTML, CSS & JavaScript. Big bonus if you can code

 

 

 Working Conditions / Environment

  • Based in Hong Kong
  • Able to travel occasionally
