Job Description

The Member Relations Manager reports directly to the President and is responsible for maintaining member relationship and servicing the needs of the members within the Canadian Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong.  The ideal candidate will be mature, independent, and enthusiastic in engaging members within the business community.  S/he will be working closely with other colleagues within the Chamber to deliver service objectives for the members.  The Member Relations Manager can expect both a demanding and rewarding work experience in one of Hong Kong’s most vibrant international chambers of commerce. 

 

Job Description 

  • Program development
    • Manage the Chamber’s Membership Privileges Program by inviting select vendors to participate.
    • Propose new and/or amend existing programs to help improve membership value.
  • Membership engagement
    • Manage member relations by reaching out to members on a regular basis to understand their needs and expectations via phone, email, social media and/or events, workshop, seminar participation.
    • Obtain and maintain valuable member feedback and propose improvements of our existing services.
    • Identify cross-selling opportunities to enhance membership value.
  • Database management
    • Ensure the database is up to date with member information and interactions – “know your client” methodology.
    • Identify meaningful trends via feedback, surveys and statistics to develop an understanding of member needs and their alignment with our services.  With this information, develop and/or amend existing programs accordingly.
    • Prepare reports on the status of membership renewals as appropriate.
  • Financial management
    • Manage the budget and be responsible for monthly membership renewals.
  • Committee involvement
    • Act as the Secretariat Liaison to liaise with and support key Chamber industry Committees and partners for potential advocacy, campaign and event opportunities. 
    • Be up-to-date on activities of the Liaison committee and report progress at the Secretariat meetings.
  • Leadership and teamwork
    • Coach a Management Trainee to manage member relations and provide high quality client service to our members.
    • Source new leads and work effectively with colleagues in other teams, including business development, corporate communications, events management and finance management.
  • Other duties
    • Assist with other Chamber-wide initiatives as required.

 

Candidate Profile

  • University degree in a relevant specialization (i.e. business, marketing, public relations)
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in client relations
  • Fluent in English, Mandarin and Cantonese
  • Able to work independently and be a proactive and energetic team player with self-motivation, creativity and positive working attitude
  • Strong organization and leadership abilities with excellent interpersonal skills
