Job Description

GENERAL MISSION

Helps the Company to develop import from China, for television product line she/he’s in charge.

REPORTING TO: GENERAL MANAGER

RESPONSIBILITIES

Coaching:

  • Animate his/her team.
  • Weekly business unit meeting with Head Office and business unit including quality and logistic department.
  • Contribution as a trainer: transfer of know how. 

Sourcing: 

  • Identify the competitive resource area for his product line. 
  • Propose and anticipate the new sourcing areas and production zones to her/his direct manager. 
  • Be creative and use new ways to source. 
  • Source most reliable and performing suppliers according to the quality requirements and policies of the Company. 
  • Validate suppliers data base. 
  • Be aware of the industry/product development tendency inside China. 
  • Be aware of the changes of client needs in customer market. 
  • Answer the sourcing requirement of customer and actively provide new products sourcing in China. 
  • Collect information about our competitors’ activity during frequent factory visits and propose opportunities and counter offers to our partners. 

Product development:

  • Share, participate and bring her/his support on commercial side and product development activities:
  • Evaluate the potential manufacturers for new development. 
  • Concept, planning, design and execution stages of new products. 
  • Provides his opinion on the design options. 
  • Evaluate potential design feasibility with Product Development Engineer. 
  • Interact with cost-effectiveness. 
  • Review product documentation for accuracy including documentation intended for customers use. 
  • Evaluate product non-conformances and recommend design modifications. 

Technological survey and pro-activeness of new features and/or technology related to television industry. 

  • Panel prices and availability. 
  • New panel technology. 
  • New chip set technology. 
  • New software technology. 
  • License global understanding and global knowledge. 

Offering: 

  • Develop excellent relationships with the manufacturers in order to collect all the products needs and market information. 
  • Prepare/validate product information and offer customer product datasheet. 
  • Benchmarking and prices comparisons among existing suppliers and others potential manufacturers
    • Synthesis information with spreadsheet including precise features, technology. 
  • Ability to adjust the offering to the brand strategy defined by the Head Office and/or Partner.
  • In charge of flat cost calculation and information provided to the Head Office. 
  • Continuously improving his knowledge of product and quality norms at customer market. 
  • Be force of proposal: provide new opportunities to the Head Office and/or Partners (innovation, stock, bomb prices…). 

Negotiation: 

  • Negotiate the order elements, such as supplier, price, PCB, quantity, delivery etc., before order placement. 
  • Respect and reinforce the ethical rules of the company with the suppliers. 

Coordination: 

  • Work together with his team for her/his product line with consistent thinking and actions to achieve common goals. 
  • Coordinate between supplier and customer to achieve best solution for all. 
  • Coordinate with other departments for relevant issues such as delivery, payment, quality to smooth the daily operation concerning his product line. 
  • Involve Quality team and R&D team in all the steps of the process: selection of the suppliers and anticipation of the product compliance. 
  • Keep Quality Dpt. and engineers informed about any changes of Product requested by the customers before ordering.

All the activities should be on the basis of the Company ethic rules.

Orders follow up: 

  • Respect of the target ETD’s. 
  • Specific action whenever necessary to control the service level in coordination with the Logistic department.

PERFORMANCE APPRAISAL

  • Annual turnover evolution global and per destination market.
  • Annual supplier payment credit evolution. -
  • Number of days in trip for sourcing.
  • Ratio of new supplier ordered compared with new supplier sourced. 
  • Customer satisfaction rate (on-time delivery rate, answer on customers’ needs with orders…).
  • On-time ratio of order delivery.

 

REQUIREMENTS

  • College degree or above.
  • Rich experience in relevant area and knowledge for export business for at least 10 years.
  • Excellent skills of communication, market analyzing, sourcing and negotiation.
  • Wide range of product channel & sensitive taste of potential products.
  • High commercial sense to realize market needs.
  • High coordination ability with customers and suppliers. - High sense of ethics and integrity, dynamic and honest, dedicated, systematic and initiative.
  • Willing to undertake the pressure and frequent travel around. - Fluent English both in spoken & written.
