Job Description

THE JOCKEY CLUB CREATIVE ARTS CENTRE

JCCAC is a vibrant multidisciplinary arts village and arts centre housed in an award winning architectural conversion. As an arts village, JCCAC provides studio and office facilities for nearly 140 artists and arts organisations. As an arts centre, it operates the Jockey Club Black Box Theatre, two exhibition galleries and various communal facilities, and regularly presents programmes for the public. JCCAC is a self-financed and registered charity. It now invites applications for the following position:

Accounting and Administration Officer (JCCAC001/16-17)

Duties

The appointee will assist the Operations Team in accounting matters and administration of the Centre. Tasks include:

(a) handling full set of books;

(b) assisting the preparation of budget and annual audited accounts of the Centre;

(c) preparing financial statements and reports on a regular basis;

(d) handling rental matters of the Centre’s studio units;

(e) petty cash control;

(f) assisting the handling of personnel matters and providing general administrative support (e.g. filing of documents to the Companies Registry, arranging renewal of Centre’s insurance and legal contracts);

(g) keeping and maintaining the fixed assets of the Centre;

(h) procuring goods and services;

(i) working with IT office to maintain the Centre’s computer system; and

(j) performing any other duties assigned by the Centre management.

Qualifications and Requirements

Applicants should:

(a) be familiar with the accounting system MYOB;

(b) have at least three years of work experience in accounting and administration; having a recognised university degree in relevant discipline is a definite advantage;

(c) be numerical and good in both written and spoken English and Chinese (Putonghua and Cantonese);

(d) possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills;

(e) be well organised, good at multitasking, self-motivated, meticulous and creative in problem solving;

(f) be able to work independently as well as a good team player; and

(g) if occasionally called for, be willing to undertake irregular work hours and work on weekends and/or public holidays.

Interest in the arts will be a definite advantage.

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to sit for a written test.

Appointment Terms:

The appointee will initially be offered a fixed-term contract of two years, renewable thereafter subject to mutual agreement. A competitive remuneration package commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered to the right candidate.
