Proco Associates has partnered with a Major retailer seeking to expand its indirect sourcing category.

They are seeking an experienced Procurement and Sourcing specialist with experience in Not-for-sale categories such as constructed fixtures, equipment, shelving, packaging etc. to support the group procurement strategy. Responsibilities:

• Understand priorities and manage sourcing of Procurement activities

• Lead and drive the sourcing plans in conjunction with key stakeholders

• Identify and maintain a robust supply base that fulfills our Global Sourcing Strategy and meets our Ethical and Technical standards across all sites

• Maintain timely commercial awareness of developments within the supply base spotting commercial opportunities and challenges, proactively identify product and negotiation opportunities

• To coordinate the day to day operations involved in direct sourcing of products including factory site visit, preparation of quotations and samples, critical path management, order follow up

• To develop and maintain transparent and honest relationships with suppliers, based on trust and respect and in full compliance with policy

• To monitor closely the suppliers’ performance and communicate it to them regularly

Requirements:

• Ideally 5 years of strong sourcing experience in NFR categories, preferably with Construction and Fitout products experience

• Experience in working in buying offices is an advantage

• Willing to travel and passionate on products

• Good command of spoken & written English and conversational Mandarin is essential

• A good team player with strong communication skills

• Strong organization and negotiation skills

• The ability to work independently with overseas buyers, suppliers and factories

• Proficiency in WinWord, Excel, and Outlook

• Knowledge of the UK / EU market is an advantage
