The CTO’s role is to assure the successful execution of the company’s business mission through development of the company’s Super-Resolution Microscope and related services, products.

Responsibilities:

1.        Identify opportunities and risks for delivering NBI’s super-resolution products and imaging services.
2.        Evaluate and identify appropriate technology platforms for product development.
3.        Lead strategic planning to achieve business goals by identifying and prioritizing development initiatives and setting timetables for the evaluation, development.
4.        Participate as a member of the exec management team in establishing governance processes of direction and control.
5.        Select and manage company staff or outsourced vendors.
6.        Support the marketing process by providing implementation of technical requirements for Internet marketing and search engine optimization.
7.        Establish and supervise a quality assurance process, including integration and system testing.
8.        Maintain up-to-date knowledge of technology standards, industry trends, emerging technologies.
9.        Supervise recruitment, training, retention, and organization of all development staff in accordance with the company hiring process, personnel policies, and budget requirements.

Requirements:

1.        10+ years’ experience managing microscope development.
2.        Comprehensive experience in optical design, familiar with the parameters of the optical components.
3.        Comprehensive experience in structural design and system commissioning.
4.        Proven leadership ability.
5.        Ability to set and manage priorities judiciously.
6.        Excellent written and oral communication skills.
7.        Superior analytical, evaluative, and problem-solving abilities.
8.        Ability to motivate in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
