Summary of the Position

You will oversee the day-to-day operational activities relating to the manufacturing of Ampd's products, with an emphasis on achieving and maintaining quality standards. The position requires strong abilities on working i) effectively with contract manufacturers and upstream vendors and; ii) with teammates who have backgrounds in multiple engineering disciplines. You will be especially involved in managing all facets of Ampd's electrical and electronics vendors, from negotiating warranty terms, to defining inspection specifications, to coordinating production schedules. Regular travel to Mainland China will be required.

You must be able to operate independently and be a clear, candid, and effective communicator in both spoken and written English. You should be motivated, reliable, thorough, and excited about developing new products with the potential to dramatically reshape global energy infrastructure dynamics.

Key Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Mechatronic Engineering or a related field;
• At least five years of relevant manufacturing or quality control experience;
• Existing right to work in Hong Kong and travel to China.

Skills and Knowledge

• Proven experience in identifying, specifying and optimising production processes and parameters for NPI projects to improve efficiency, eliminate bottlenecks and reduce production errors;
• Strong experience in defining, documenting and implementing quality control checkpoints at IQC, IPQC and OQA stages;
• Demonstrated knowledge of electronics components and their associated manufacturing and assembly processes including PCBs, cable harnesses, reflow solder
• Excellent track record of project management skills: consistent delivery of assignments and projects on time, on budget and according or exceeding specifications.
• Proven experience working specifically with supply chain partners in Mainland China;
• Leadership experience – knows how to manage different personality types and motivate a team;
• High level of proficiency in English and Mandarin.

Specific duties may include:

• KEY: Documenting IQC, IPQC and OQA specification for key contract manufacturer vendors; schedule and execute supplier audits to ensure compliance with specifications;
• Working with the company's Tier 1 contract manufacturers to develop inspection, maintenance and calibration schedules for the in-process tooling and equipment used to manufacture the company's products;
• Collaborate with the company's Senior Product Development Engineers to address on-going production issues or to create and implement projects to improve manufacturing efficiency;
• Work with the company's business teams to lock down production schedules for finished goods that are to be delivered to the company's customers.
