Our client is a top tier global investment bank, operating in more than 50 countries. They are looking for Sybase or DB2 Database Administrator with at least 3 years of experience supporting multi-server enterprise environments.

Job Responsibilities:

• Provide database support of deep technical expertise to stakeholders in a stable, productive and cost effective manner.
• Member of a global distributed DBA team that provides 24x7 firm-wide support for distributed databases
• This person will work in a position that will allow her/him to fully experience all aspects of database administration, including performance and tuning, regular maintenance and the creation of specialized jobs, depending on what needs may arise.
• This person will be part of a group rotation providing weekend on call support. Support, maintain and work towards service improvement of the Database
• Proactively monitor and make strategic plans to address issues to improve service stability.
• Responsible for improvement and maintenance of the databases to include rollout and upgrades (High focus on Oracle Patching)
• Provide technical support and resolve outage in a short turnaround time. Track record working through vendor problem resolution and appropriate escalation for incident severity.
• Actively engage with key stakeholders particularly during service outage or performance issues.

Job Requirements:

• At least 3 years of experience supporting multi-server enterprise environments.
• Strong SQL language knowledge
• Strong Sybase or DB2 database administration knowledge
• Must be able to work with command line tools as well as GUI tools
• Excellent problem solving skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to multi-task
• Familiarity with Unix or Linux
• Exposure to perl
• Intermediate to advanced Perl/Shell coding development
• Sybase or DB2 Optimizer Troubleshooting
