- Financial reports - be able to digest company filings, possibly dialing into or attending earning briefings

- Financial modelling - balance sheet, income statement, cashflow statement. Able to tally historic data quickly and build out forecasts based on guidance

- Credit skills - basic understanding of credit metrics, be able to compile ratios and forecast them to work out whether rating agency upgrade / downgrade triggers will be breached; be able to run sensitivity analyses on these and can compare credit quality across names

- Bond pricing - have understanding of cash prices, yields and spreads; be able to plot yield curves and perform relative value analyses; and document / plot results accurately

- Company and people background searches - be able to do literary search online and otherwise to find out details about certain organizations or people to determine whether we can make investments affiliated with them; and be able to document the findings

- News filtering / gathering - track company news and alert team when substantial news arises; follow boarder country / policy news
