Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement and review Oxfam Hong Kong’s Outward Foreign Direct Investment (OFDI) and   Financing for Development (FfD) strategy and annual work plans including outputs and indicators, timetables for delivery and roles and responsibilities for the delivery of advocacy plans for International Programme
  • Develop and deliver OHK’s strategies engaging relevant parties, including advising other teams or units on integration of OFDI and FfD strategies into plans and programmes
  • Ensure coherence of OFDI and FdD strategies across OHK and implementation of agreed protocols
  • Support OHK’s lead on private sector (global and regional) and International Programme Unit Director in aligning OI’s policy and guidelines, structure and management on the subject and to perform and risk assessment for OHK
  • Stay abreast of and adjust to the changing circumstances and understanding regarding aid, trade, investment and International Financial institution issues, and anticipate, analyse and manage strategy, ensuring that OHK’s ideas and approaches include the latest thinking
  • Develop and maintain key relationships with allies, partners, influencers and decision markers who are involved in the debates and work on OFDI and FfD issues
  • Undertake tasks in relation to personnel supervision and team management (including performance management, annual planning and budgeting, budget monitoring, mid and year-end review and reporting on operational plan



Requirements:

  • Degree holder with at least 8 years’ working experience, similar experience in NGOs, research institutes, or commercial sector dealing with sustainability is desirable
  • Sound understanding of policy issues with respect to Corporate Social Responsibilities; business and human rights, etc. in the context of China and Hong Kong
  • Strong analytical and writing skills, including communication skills for lobbying and media work
  • Demonstrable experience in developing and implementing advocacy and campaigning strategies, including research, networking, lobbying, communications and popular mobilization
  • Strong knowledge and experience of working on OFDI and FfD issues, especially Chinese overseas investments and development aid and finance
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese
  • Proficient in computer applications including MS Office
  • Identification with Oxfam’s mission and vision



Candidates with less experience will be considered as Assistant Manager
