Job Description

Reports to : Manager Cargo Services

Main Purpose of the Job:

The Cargo Services Coordinator is responsible for supervising the daily cargo handling activities of AHK, its customers (primarily DHL & CX), and other contracted ground handling agents. Under the direction of departmental management the incumbent will supervise the freight operations and implement approved processes that ensure customer satisfaction and compliance to established safety/security/service standards. The incumbent will need to interact actively with the customers, all levels and departments within the company, as well as external organizations.

Key Accountabilities

  1. Supervise on a random basis various flight handling activities (e.g. loading/unloading aircraft, weight & balance, dangerous goods and special cargo)
  2. Ensure accurate documentation and compliance of governmental agency regulatory requirements
  3. Monitor the performance of cargo service function as provided by CX and other contracted parties
  4. Ensure a high degree of customer service, attentiveness, speed, and control error rates, whilst maintaining consistency in service standards
  5. Co-ordinate with ground handling agent for crew administration and crew transportation
  6. Ensure at all times that the handling of all special cargo (e.g. dangerous goods) fully complies with the latest edition of the IATA manuals
  7. Report & investigate service failure incidents and ensure proper remedial actions from all parties to minimize the chances of future occurrence
  8. Participate actively in the continuous improvement programmes, implement with thorough understanding and commitment to the quality management system
  9. Conduct procedural and informational training for the ground handling staff
  10. Monitor ULD control, purchase and maintenance
  11. Apply & renew various regulatory licenses
  12. Manage & update AHK Website for Cargo Services
  13. Assist new station set up / preparation
  14. Support adhoc / non-scheduled charter service
  15. Conduct adhoc station inspections independently
  16. Respond to operational enquiries from all parties

Qualifications and Experience

  • Tertiary education
  • At least 2-3 years work experience preferably in ramp handling, load control functions and other cargo services etc.
  • Air cargo industry exposure, excellent skills of communication and coordination with capability of attention to fine details
  • Successful completion of Basic Cargo and Dangerous Goods Courses
  • Knowledge of aircraft handling which including weight and balance, cargo trimming, freight handling etc.
  • Knowledge of cargo terminal handling
  • Must possess strong computer skills
