Job Description

Dynamics of the Role 

This position will be responsible for ensuring Hong Kong’s Direct-to-Consumer ecommerce products are meeting revenue, conversion, retention and profitability goals as well as seeking ways to further these goals. This includes being responsible for overseeing the defining, analyzing and writing of the business requirements for small to large product management projects. This position will understand the business and/or customer needs through research, usability studies and analyzing available data, as well as seek out new ways to augment this data. This position will base strategic decisions through a defensible, metrics-driven approach based on ROI, market and customer feedback and analysis of the user experience. In addition, this position provides leadership and initiative within the unit by understanding the industry and its’ strategic direction

 

How You’ll Contribute:  

  • Monitors and analyzes product key performance indicators, customer feedback, and the competitive landscape to identify gaps, weaknesses and opportunities in any part of the product delivery
  • Prioritizes enhancements based on ROI and works with Project Management to develop release schedules and updates the product roadmap accordingly
  • Manages Business Analysts in the creation of business requirements necessary to achieve the objectives of new enhancements and related product management projects which includes the development of process flow chart diagrams, use cases and user stories
  • Analyzes the overall nature of the need in terms of feasibility, cost-effectiveness, usability, and practicality
  • Meets with Director to provide recommendations and the necessary steps to achieve goals. May be also required to develop project overviews, budget requirements, and other documentation necessary for a project to proceed
  • Meets with Director to provide updates on projects. Resolves any issues that may result. Follows through on any suggestions and/or recommendations. Participates in review sessions with internal departments. Answers any questions and/or concerns as they occur. Updates documentation to reflect any changes as they occur
  • Conducts user acceptance testing prior to enhancement and product launches
  • Researches and analyzes the market directly and manages research vendors
  • Continually monitors the process of the projects ensuring the information is clarified, issues resolved, and process follows previously established timeframes
  • Following completion of projects, quantifies its impact on revenue, conversion, retention, and profitability
  • Develops and communicates product strategy across the organization

 

What You’ll Bring:  

  • Bachelor’s degree in MIS, Computer Science, Business or related field required 
  • Minimum of five years of experience in Product Management and/or Business Analysis for Internet based information products and service. The incumbent must also have a solid knowledge of the industry, business operations, and the integration of them in order to effectively develop work flow processes, determine the feasibility of the project through a business perspective, and communicate these needs to a technical staff. This is typically obtained through 5 or more years of progressive professional experience in a business or technical environment with 3 or more in a financial/credit information industry
  • Incumbents must have demonstrated experience showing the ability to effectively integrate the operational needs to the business to technical staff. Ideally, incumbents should understand the specific and unique needs that surround a business-to-consumer business unit
  • The incumbent must also demonstrate the ability to lead and mentor associates in new or lower level positions within the group. They must also be able to analyze the projects in a financial, technical, and feasibility prospective
  • Incumbents must possess above average verbal and written communication skills. This position may communicate with Associates at all levels within the organization, as well as others outside of it. This position must write clear and standardized documentation of all projects. Work is typically performed in an office environment. Experience with web based applications and business internet sites is preferred
  • Must have proven analytics and communication skills, an attention to detail, and an understanding of good user experience design and usability
  • Must be able to articulate the benefits of a market-driven approach to Product Management. Pragmatic Marketing training is an advantage. Must be flexible and able to adapt to changing priorities and that how much time is dedicated to each of the above-mentioned duties and responsibilities will change depending on current business needs
