SCOPE

This is primarily a supporting role with main daily duties being (but not limited to) order-related, administrational and clerical. The Assistant Merchandiser reports to a Merchandiser / Senior Merchandiser / Merchandise Manager

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist in sourcing new vendors
• Assist in all buying trips related matter including coordination of meetings, travel arrangement, quotation and samples follow up, etc.  
• Assist in orders administration by keeping track critical paths from order confirmation, artwork approval, testing documents collection, production release, inspection booking, etc
• Data input and maintenance of order-related data in company order-processing system and server
• Work closely with QA team on quality-related tasks
• Provide ad hoc support to the team in other products categories as and when required.

QUALITIFICATION AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

• Tertiary Education is required.

EXPERIENCE

• 2 - 3 year’s working experience, preferably in in an international sourcing / buying office, retailing or trading (importer) business, with Western European focus
• Experience of working with home decoration products (such as seasonal decoration and potteries) or general hardline.

REQUIREMENTS

• Good command of both spoken & written English and Chinese (Cantonese and Mandarin)
• Knowledge in product quality testing with emphasis on German quality standards
• Good computer knowledge with high proficient in Microsoft Office; Word; Excel and Powerpoint
• Willing to work overtime
• Available to travel to China, including for occasional overnight stays
• Immediate availability is preferred
