Our client, a sizable academic institution in Hong Kong, is looking for a senior IT application professional to join their IT team.  The roles & responsibilities and requirements of the position are as follows:

Responsibilities:

• Leading a team of 3 – 5 subordinates, the incumbent will be responsible for maintaining and supporting the applications including PeopleSoft, Oracle and other systems in the organization.
• Provide direct and timely services to users by examining and resolving problems and by providing required information about the applications and system.
• Monitor and liaise with application vendors on problems reported by users if required.
• Analyse, review and enhance existing applications in accordance with users’ requirements.
• Ensure the applications and systems are in smooth operation, secure and stable.
• Provide training to users on the applications.

Requirements:

• Degree in computer science, information technology or related disciplines, e.g. business management, finance, etc.
• At least 8 years’ IT support experience in sizable companies, preferably in government bodies, commercial organizations, or educational institutions
• Previous experience in a supervisory/management role
• Working knowledge in PeopleSoft, Oracle or other similar human resources and financial applications and systems.
• Customer-oriented with strong problem solving skills
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Good command of written and spoken Chinese and English.
