Purpose:

• Responsible for the management of legal affairs within Asia Pacific.
• Provide professional and client-focused legal advice and guidance consistent with a Solicitor-Client relationship.
• Carry out dedicated legal assignments within the Legal Department

 Job Responsibilities:

• Serve as primary contact for all legal matters and act as legal resource for the stakeholders within the assigned field of responsibility; provide advise and opinions on legal issues and recommend the appropriate legal response or action, which best serves to protect the interest of the company;
• Review, draft and negotiate legal documents, in particular commercial agreements;
• Provide legal advice on and manage dedicated major claims matters and litigation; liaise and coordinate in that context with insurance management and External Counsel;
• Assess and coordinate any regulatory matters and keep abreast of any related developments in the assigned field of responsibility;
• Support the implementation and monitor adherence to dedicated corporate initiatives and processes, such as Compliance, Signing Powers, Contract Review etc;
• In agreement with the Corporate Legal Counsel, APAC, coordinate and monitor dedicated legal matters, in particular:

-    M&A transactions

-    Strategic and operational alliances (Cooperation Agreements, Joint Ventures)

-    Establishment of subsidiaries, branch offices, representation offices etc.

• Manage the legal function and supervise In-House Legal Counsels within the assigned field of responsibility;
• Coordinate and supervise External Counsels;
• Organize and provide training for dedicated legal topics concerning the field of responsibility;

 Job Requirements:

• A lawyer qualified in Hong Kong with 3 years of professional legal experience in a corporate or law firm environment;
• Prior working experience in or exposure to logistics and transportation industry will be highly advantageous;
• Prior experience in or exposure to PRC, Taiwan, and/or Transportation / Fright Forwarding Law, General Commercial Law, Civil Litigation, Company Law and/or Corporate Governance will be an advantageous;
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills & High ethical conduct and personal integrity
• Excellent written and oral command of English and Mandarin
• Prepared for occasional travelling
