Job Description

PURPOSE:

Leading Learning & Development and Associate Engagement initiatives in the region.  Working closely with US counterparts to develop and drive strategies in respective functions.  S/he is responsible for ensuring the effectiveness and successful implementation of policies, processes, programs and strategies for respective functions in the region.

  

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work jointly with senior HR leadership and/or respective US counterparts to develop strategies for respective functions in support of regional business goals.
  • Develop new policies, processes & programs to support agreed upon strategies for respective functions.
  • Work jointly with HR business partners to effectively implement all policies, processes & programs for respective functions.
  • Establish feedback mechanisms to measure effectiveness and success of respective functions.
  • Monitor the effectiveness and success of implemented strategies, policies, processes & programs; where necessary, add/modify/remove policies, processes & programs to improve the effectiveness.
  • Provide proactive and/or ad hoc consulting to HR business partners on issues or opportunities related to respective functions and is the Subject Matter Expert.
  • Ensure alignment of regional policies, processes & programs for respective functions with those of L Brands.

Learning & Development Function

  • Develop leaders’ capabilities through a series of planned initiatives. Build associates capabilities to meet current & future business needs.
  • Identify the needs of people development which should be aligned with individual interests and business development in long run.
  • Establish and maintain a competency-based learning and development system which best fits the people development needs for the region, and creates organizational learning culture in the region.
  • Plan, design and facilitate professional training/ technical training/ management training/ on-boarding program for various levels, and ultimately build a continuous learning culture in the region.  Evaluate training effectiveness periodically.

 Associate Engagement

  • Improve employee engagement and communication by developing and implementing employee engagement initiatives and proper communication channels, e.g. Well-being activities, Annual Dinner/Annual Outing, Associate Advisory Committee, etc.
  • Support and monitor the implementation of the annual Associate Opinion Survey (AOS) and its subsequent follow up actions across all countries in the region.
  • Cultivate a desirable work environment and drive associates’ productivity through initiatives that can enhance balance between work life and personal/family life.
  • Introduce measures or programs e.g. Employee Assistance Program (EAP), to support associates on issues which can potentially affect associates’ performance at work and cannot be shared with or managed/resolved within a work environment.

  

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Degree holder in business management, human resources management or equivalent; master’s degree holder is preferred;
  • Minimum of 8 years’ experience in Human Resources field and should have solid relevant experience in training program design and delivery.
  • Good command of both English and Chinese language;
  • Excellent communication skills, people interaction skills, presentation and facilitation skills;
  • High proficiency in computer literacy, excellent Powerpoint presentation skill.
  • Competent in leading a high performing team and managing multi-function initiatives.
  • Occasional travel is required.
