Job Description

We are now seeking a high caliber human resources professional to join our Asia-Pacific team based in Hong Kong.  Reporting to the Director, People Business Partner, this position will contribute to the performance of Dow Jones’s business by advising and partnering with business managers to enable them to effectively lead, motivate, develop and retain their people.  As a member of the global People team, this regional role is to provide excellent business partnership, offer best practice HR policies, practices and operational support which help attract, retain and mobilize high quality employees, support business priorities and promote competitive advantage. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide effective business partner support to business leaders and managers in the Asia-Pacific region.
  • Manage the whole employee life cycle from attracting and identifying the right talents to on-boarding them and creating programs in talent development and retention.
  • Partner with regional stakeholders on organizational programs, design/implement solutions, performance management and other employee relation issues.
  • Assist in the development of local HR tools and processes, ensuring consistency with market practice and compliance with employment laws.
  • Coordinate and handle recruitment activities from time to time.
  • Ensure employment/offer components are in line with local and global policies and legislations.
  • Assist/manage special projects, as required, including those related to engagement, the development and implementation of global HR policies, tools and practices apart from the daily operational work.
  • Administer documentation for staffing, update the HR systems, and provide international assignments and relocation support.

 Key Requirements:

  • Excellent working knowledge on Hong Kong employment law is required and good knowledge on employment laws of other Asian countries preferred.
  • Solid experience in handling employee relations issues is a must.
  • Degree level education with minimum of 8 years’ solid generalist human resources experience, 4 years of which at a similar capacity.
  • Hands-on experience in recruitment, employee development planning and counseling is desirable.
  • Sound knowledge and skills in compensation and benefits analysis and strategies, in relation to market practice.
  • Solid problem-solving and analytical skills, the ability to multi-task and facilitate resolution of sensitive and/or difficult employee-related issues
  • Effective oral and written communication skills with a variety of people at all levels.
  • Good IT and HR management system/tools skills. Experience in Workday, iCIMS and other global HR system is preferable.
  • Excellent command of English is a must.
