Dynamics of the Role

We are seeking a Senior Statistical Analyst to join a dynamic and fast paced team. This position applies analytical skills to work on all aspects of the account lifecycle in the consumer credit domain on behalf of a diverse set of clients, ranging from credit risk models for acquisition and account management, cross-sell applications, portfolio models for regulatory applications, fraud detection solutions, event-based trigger solutions, marketing and propensity models for customer acquisition and retention, and strategy analyses of various kinds. This position will also develop complex analytic solutions directly with TransUnion customers, business partners and other departments.

How You’ll Contribute

• Partner with internal and external cross-functional teams to drive new business initiatives and deliver long term value-added product propositions for B2B customers that TransUnion services in APAC. This includes but is not limited to the development of predictive risk management and business intelligence solutions for banks, finance companies, and collection agencies on all types of credit facilities such as credit card, personal loan, auto loan, and mortgage, etc.
• Lead analytic client engagements involving descriptive, predictive, and prescriptive analysis through the consumer lending portfolio lifecycle, leveraging a variety of techniques (e.g., segmentation, logistic regression, survival analysis, principal component analysis, Monte Carlo simulation, scenario analysis, and sensitivity analysis)
• Design and write programs for data extraction, segmentation and statistical analysis on large population datasets using languages such as R, SAS, SQL, Hive, and Pig on Linux, PC, and mainframe computing platforms. Independently perform complex statistical analysis, develop robust models utilizing various advanced statistical techniques such as regression, decision tree, neural network, survival analysis and others
• Provides high quality product support on new and existing TransUnion advance analytics products and solutions to clients, which includes demonstrating analytic insights and business benefit of using TransUnion analytics solutions, addressing and resolving client questions, and strategic consulting and needs assessment services to internal and external customers
• May lead full project cycle of analytical and modeling projects for customers, including developing detailed requirements, developing models using advanced statistical techniques, managing analytical resources, and ensuring that deliverables are in accordance with client expectation and business need

• Perform other related duties as assigned

What You’ll Bring

• Master’s degree in Statistics or other related field such as mathematics, business, finance, economics, or equivalent, along with 3 or more years of relevant work experience or Bachelor’s degree along with 5 or more years of relevant work experience
• Strong understanding of statistical analysis techniques and their application to business. Must be familiar with commonly used statistical software such as SAS, R and others
• Technical aptitude with strong logical, problem solving, and decision-making skills
• A quick learner. Demonstrates an ability to quickly and proficiently understand and absorb new information
• Adjusts quickly to changing priorities and conditions. Proficient in performing multiple tasks and copes effectively with complexity and change
• Strong communication skills. Speaks and writes clearly and articulately. Maintains high standard in all forms of communication. Proficiency in English is required. Other Asian languages a plus
• Demonstrates teamwork. Reaches out to peers and cooperates with supervisors to establish an overall collaborative working relationship
• Some travel required
