Job Description

This position requires strong Citrix and Windows design, engineering and administration skills. Main missions: design and implement new solutions for our customers, maintain the systems throughout their life cycle, integrate and publish applications, integrate into the different environments, apply security policies, support the resolution of incidents/problems, implement effective service monitoring.

The role is part of the Asian regional Workplace team, implementing large Citrix solutions and providing services for existing and new environments. The role requires experience in implementing, supporting and operating Citrix farms consumed by 1000 and more end users. 

The role involves coordinating with project teams, infrastructure architects, technical review boards, customers and other infrastructure engineering teams in supporting the planning, budgeting and implementation of new demands. Develop short-term corrective programs / process and long-term process redesigns.

 

The ideal candidate would be responsible for the following:

  • Design and implementation of Citrix & VDI infrastructure projects
  • Advising the right virtualization technology for the right user
  • System Configuration & tuning of Citrix & VDI environments
  • Publish and support applications to the XenApp farm. This will include identifying and integrating Citrix specific settings to the environment
  • 3rd level support (troubleshooting, incident problem and change management) Provide advance troubleshooting support and problem resolution of the entire solution (applications, infrastructure, endpoints).
  • Maintain XenApp builds and integrate patches and updates on a regular basis.
  • Prepare and execute planned maintenance/upgrades (security patching, operating system and tooling upgrades, ...)
  • Develop and maintain Operational and Technical documentation
  • Industrialization of the Operational Processes Develop, automate and implement operational best practices for the virtualization environment.
  • Drive knowledge transfer to 1st and 2nd level support teams
  • Ensure security and audit guidelines are correctly implemented Maintain a high degree of security across all aspects of the environment. 
  • Create, test and maintain service recovery procedures and plans.
  • Monitoring and performance tuning using metrics and tools.
  • Follow policies and procedures for change and incident management.

 

The successful candidate should possess:

  • Hands-on experience with Citrix technologies: XenApp, XenDesktop, Citrix Access Gateway, Citrix Access Suite Console in an enterprise environment.
  • Citrix CCA 5 certification, preferable
  • Good knowledge of Citrix XenDesktop 5.x VDI infrastructure.
  • Knowledge of Citrix Provisioning server 6.x
  • Hands-on experience deploying NetScaler based infrastructure solutions
  • Good knowledge in XenApp 5x/6x/7x Server, Citrix Access Gateway, Netscaler
  • Hands-on experience of Windows Server 2008/2012 configuration and administration including Active Directory & Group Policies
  • Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Windows 7 & Windows 10 Desktop operating systems engineering
  • Good understanding of network engineering and security principles
  • Technical writing skills to write the proper documentation according to internal regulations
  • Expert understanding in virtual windows environments and it’s integration into Active Directory.
  • Experience in user personalization for user and environment management
  • Knowledge and experience in scripting (Powershell or vbscript)
  • Understanding of storage systems including SAN & NAS including the different file system architectures
  • Expert understanding of application, client & server virtualization technologies
  • Ability to understand complex systems and troubleshoot in detail while maintaining big picture view and communicate in simple business terms
  • Outstanding organizational, communication, interpersonal, relationship building skills conducive to collaboration.
  • Strong tracking, coordination and project planning skills
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
  • Excellent customer service skills, including end-user support experience.
  • Ability to work independent and proactive with a strong passion for performance improvement. Must be able to work on multiple simultaneous tasks with limited supervision.
  • Ability to identify and implement process and/or application improvements
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure.
  • Quick learner, motivated self-starter
  • Able to follow change management procedures and internal guidelines. ITIL knowledge is recommended.
  • Able to work in a global team and in a multi-cultural environment.
