Our client is an European Buying office looking for strong Sustainability expertise to join their regional buying office in Hong Kong.

Responsibilities:

• Knowledgeable in textile factories, fabric mills and dye house, leading detox projects

• Be part of a ZDCH working group and able to handle water saving projects

• Identify risk to the Buying Office in respect of Environmental related hazards across the supply chain

• Achieve Zero Discharge of Hazardous Chemicals (ZDHC)

• Oversee the collection of water sludge reports, chemical inventory data, and other relevant information from Chemical and Dyestuff suppliers; Oversee the facilitation of the factories’ wastewater and sludge test

• Develop environmental KPIs to drive improvements along the supply chain

• Build relationships and actively engage with consultants and NGO, Government bodies such as SAC/HIGG, GAFTI, to further the Company’s C&S program

Ideal Candidates will have:

• University degree: Environmental / chemical engineering degree
• Min 6+ years’ experience in compliance and sustainability; knowledgeable of chemicals used in manufacturing
• Experience in Environmental Sustainability project, such as Zero Discharge / RSL / HIGG, will be an added advantage
• Broad vision, self-motivated and able to communicate at all levels
• Strong program management skills
• High degree of work ethics and integrity
• Possess influencing skills
• Good at problem solving, strategic thinking and planning
• Travel required
