Responsibilities:

• Reports to Director of Footwear to drive footwear business;
• Demonstrate in-depth footwear knowledge and able to provide technical engineering advice for development projects from initial concepts to final confirmation, includes lasts, patterns, mold and materials;
• Manage and drive testing with customer, factory and third party;
• Work closely with Footwear Director in developing and leading merchandising strategy and ensure all objectives are met including pricing, sampling, sourcing and on-time delivery;
• Facilitate timely, accurate commercialization of development models and production;
• Negotiate with factory and suppliers directly in order to secure the most competitive pricing;
• Source and develop new factories so as to support the business and challenges;
• To ensure the realization of design that the specification of design are accurate and can be produced;
• Travel to factories and sample room as needed to aid in product developments. Arrange on the spot changes whenever required and work together factories to solve technical problems when making samples;
• Work with QA team and factory to resolve various quality issues;
• Work closely and effectively with different cross-functional teams internally including Vendor Compliance, Quality Assurance, Product Category Manager and Supply Chain Operations;
• Communicate effectively with inventory management and supply planning team to execute the buy, close monitor of the production schedule and ensure the on-time delivery.

Requirements:

• University graduates with at least 12 years of relevant experience in the athletic/performance footwear industry;
• Capable to provide technical advice for opening lasts, pattern and mold;
• Good experience and knowledge for various footwear construction such as Goodyear Welt, Cement, Strobel, Injection, etc; 
• Experienced in the latest footwear trend including materials, components, process, concepts and manufacturing;
• Good sourcing experience and supplier network in footwear;
• Work independently but yet able to share knowledge and insights with team;
• Ability to work under high pressure and fast moving business environment;
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously;
• Attention to details, strong problem solving skills, ability to make sound judgement and good decision making skills;
• Good communication and interpersonal skills;
• Good command of written & spoken English, Mandarin and Cantonese;
• Proficient in MS Excel, Word, Outlook, Powerpoint and Chinese word processing; prior knowledge in ERP an advantage;
• Frequent business travels, when required.
