Reporting to Director, Projects, the incumbent will assist in the management of the design, construction and related activities of an assigned development or asset enhancement projects with due regard of sustainability, quality, time, cost and social responsibility requirements from conception to project completion.

Job Duties

• Advise the Company on technical aspects of development appraisals including the selection of consultants.
• Appoint design consultants, direct them and manage their performance in the execution of their duties.
• Develop a detailed Design Brief with input from Finance, Retail Portfolio & Marketing, Office Portfolio, Residential and/or Property Services Units.
• Work with cost control team members to prepare and regularly update the Cost Plan.
• Work with construction management team members to prepare and regularly update the Master Programme.
• Contribute to lead and carry out risk management and value management for projects assigned.
• Manage the procurement of design and construction works and ensure that all associated contractual obligations are met.
• Deal with all matters related to the Building Ordinance. Manage General Building Plan approval process and related Government submissions and co-ordinate with related team members on land lease matters with the Development programme.
• Manage the design development process and liaison with Retail Portfolio & Marketing, Office Portfolio, Residential and/or Property Services Units to ensure that operational and management requirements are incorporated.
• Manage handover of the completed development or asset enhancement projects to the operators.
• Arrange regular Project Review meetings and Design Review meetings with the consultants and internal parties.
• Prepare and compile monthly and quarterly Project Reports on programme and financial matters including input from cost control and construction management team members.

Requirements

• Bachelor degree in Structural Engineering or Building Services Engineering or equivalent
• A Corporate member of HKIE, IStructE or equivalent
• Minimum 12 years of working experience on building construction projects, of which at least 3 years at managerial level
• Familiar with building regulations / procedures of both new and enhancement works projects
• Able to manage the procurement of design and construction of building projects and ensure that associated contractual obligations are met
• Able to work under pressure and commit to project deliverables
• Creative with good communication and management skills
• Fluency in spoken and written English and Chinese
