Job Description

The Business Development Manager reports directly to the President and is responsible to mainly drive new business from the Chamber's wide portfolio of sponsorship, membership, professional services and advertising programs.  The ideal candidate will be mature and independent, driving new business and partnership opportunities by engaging various leads within the business community.  The Business Development Manager can expect both a demanding and rewarding work experience in one of Hong Kong’s most vibrant international chambers of commerce. 

 

Job Description

  •  Business development
    • Drive new business opportunities from existing service programs including corporate sponsorship, membership, professional services and advertisement, adhering to the team’s monthly sales KPIs.
    • Monitor current market trends and supply competitor activity information.
    • Develop new and strengthen existing business development strategies.
  • Corporate management
    • Manage the business development monthly production and expense reports.
    • Coordinate budget planning for the team.
  • Team development
    • Coach and lead Management Trainees to achieve overall corporate goals and objectives.
    • Work effectively with colleagues in other business development-related teams including membership services, corporate communications and events management.
  • Committee involvement
    • Will act as the Secretariat Liaison to work with one of the ten interest committees to assist with that committee’s strategic plan to host events, initiatives and/or contribute to advocacy advancement.
  • Partnership engagement
    • Working with the President, to source and strengthen partnership opportunities with other Chambers of Commerce, associations, business organizations and government entities in Hong Kong and the Asia-Pacific region to build long term strategic business collaboration.
  • Other duties
    • Assist with other Chamber-wide initiatives as required.

 

Candidate Profile

  • University degree in a relevant specialization (i.e. business, marketing, public relations)
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in sales/business development
  • Fluent in English, Mandarin and Cantonese
  • Able to work independently and be a proactive and energetic team player with self-motivation, creativity and positive working attitude
  • Strong organization and leadership abilities with excellent interpersonal skills
