Whitestone Gallery is founded in 1967 in Ginza district of Tokyo as one of the pioneering galleries in Japan. The gallery presents works of modern and contemporary Japanese artists. Over the past several years, the gallery has concentrated on introducing audiences to the Japanese avant-garde Gutai art movement, along with other postwar Japanese artists.

In 2012, the gallery opened the Karuizawa New Art Museum with its mission to focus on reframing Japanese artwork into a global conversation on artistic innovation. In addition to celebrated Japanese artists, museum exhibitions include both historical and cutting-edge new art from around the world, rising to meet the expectations of an increasingly global audience.

In 2015, the gallery’s first overseas operation opened in Hong Kong aiming to introduce former Gutai artists who are still active since its inception as well as the emerging Japanese artists to an international audience, and to create a dialogue of exchange between Japan and the rest of the world. In 2016 March, we opened another gallery in Central, Hong Kong and new gallery will start operating in Taiwan in 2017 April at the center of Taipei city.

The new gallery space in H Queen building will be launched in Autumn 2018. This newly designed building will be the most significant art complex of art and culture in Hong Kong. International prominent galleries and auction houses will operate in the same building, and we will have two entire floors for the gallery space.

We are now looking for high caliber candidate who is responsible for storage and inventory management. 

Job descriptions:

• Management of inventory and stock keeping
• Maintenance of physical condition of warehouse for artwork storage
• Handling the logistics of artworks and preparation of shipping documents
• Assistance in artwork installation of exhibitions and art fairs
• Liaise with shippers, carriers and insurance company

Job requirement:

• Strong management and communication skills to coordinate with shippers, co-workers (including Japan and Taiwan sales team) and other related parties
• Capable of multi-tasking, willing to work under pressure, tight schedule and fast-paced environment
• Fluent English and Cantonese speaking (Japanese speaking is not a must but highly preferred)
• Candidate with work experience in art gallery is highly preferred
• Candidate from logistic /shipping industry/auction house is highly preferred

• Hollywood Road Gallery: 09:40 – 19:00 (one-hour lunch break)   Open everyday
• ‪Wong Chuk Hang Gallery: 09:40 – 19:00 (one-hour lunch break) Open Tue - Sat

• ‪2 years or above
