Job Description

The Commercial Key Account Manager (KAM) is a commercial customer facing role that has overall responsibility for the commercial development of a defined Customer portfolio. KAM’s will be expected to strategically partner with customers, in order to improve solutions and/or commercial packages currently provided by Damco, whilst simultaneously identifying further business opportunities that in turn will help bring the customers’ strategies to fruition. 

The purpose of the role is to deliver planned levels of contribution from assigned Customers as well as to develop and close new business opportunities thereby continuously increasing Damco’s share of wallet.

Responsibilities: 

  • Majorly responsible for scoped key accounts commercial development and growth in Asia.
  • Develop strategic partnership with customers.
  • Support the global pursuit plans.
  • Offer innovative solutions, and market developments when needed.
  • Responsible for customer satisfaction level.
  • Proactive apply vertical knowledge.
  • Effectively engage with different functional departments to offer solutions for customer.
  • Actively communicate, safeguard and promote team’s interest within the global client team.
  • Cooperate with program managers/CSO teams to effectively engage with customers.
  • Ensure customer profitability and positive growth.
  • Internal and external stakeholder management. 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in business or related field; with at least 8 years relevant experience with a proven track record in key account and sales management.
  • Open and positive attitude; result-oriented self-starter with initiative and strong drive.
  • Experience within international trade, sourcing, retail or logistics/inventory management.
  • Be able to work independently, and willing to travel upon business requirements.
  • Passion, initiative and drive to continuously develop / service clients with creativity and innovation.
  • Analytical skills.
  • Change management in order to maintain the Customer’s satisfaction while improving customer’s contribution to the company.
  • Excellent command of both oral and written English.
