RESPONSIBILITIES

l Direct the strategic sourcing process and act as the central point of contact to improve supplier cost/price & performance on assigned spend/commodity

l Work closely with product management teams to understand technology requirements across the commodity and various business units

l Define direct material sourcing strategy to support establishment of supply chains; maximize current and future market conditions and define contingency planning to mitigate risk

l Interface directly with Finance and the Sourcing Analyst to document real savings that can be communicated throughout the organization

l Develop and maintain supplier performance metrics and manage the feedback process

l Evaluate commodity outsource opportunities to drive leverage of spend responsibility

l Coordinate with corporate functions to drive excellent sourcing processes in all areas of spend

l Work with the Continuous Improvement organization to drive initiatives at key suppliers which will result in quantifiable savings

l Establish end-to-end process with ownership and commitment to procurement strategies throughout planning and execution

l Evaluation of performance metrics for priority/critical commodity responsibilities

l Provide external marketplace knowledge of the latest dynamics, trends, and best practices

l Utilization of consistent methodologies to pursue deliverables that are aligned with strategic objectives and policies

l Experience driving direct material sourcing savings globally

l Leading and facilitating meetings, conferences, and collaboration events

Qualifications

l Bachelor’s Degree preferred.

l Related experience is required; 7 (7+) plus years of prior purchasing/sourcing experience in positions of progressing responsibility with specific experience managing direct spend of ‘metals’ based commodities.

l Metal Fabrication; specifically, this position is seeking expertise with Machining (screw machining, milling, turning), sheet metal stamping, casting & forging, heavy gauge metal fabrication, and large mechanical assemblies (low volume, highly complex, high cost)

l 7+ years of direct material sourcing & procurement experience utilizing global supply chains for products/components generally comprised of metal (steel, copper, zinc, brass, aluminum, and specialty)

l Ability to map supply chains and overcome obstacles, both internal and external, by presenting facts to support projects’ value to the business. Work with internal stakeholders to overcome objections

l Strong background in building strategic relationships with suppliers and internal customers or stakeholders

l Ability to work without close supervision; self-directed

l Ability to work with internal customers & stakeholders to build relationships and support commodity/category project

l Team player with excellent inter-personal and communication skills

l Fluent in English, Cantonese and Mandarin
