Due to continued Asia and International growth, this Apparel Global leader seeks a VP Logistics and Distribution to be based in Hong Kong for a newly created role.

As a market leader in the retail and wholesale sector, your new organization is comprised of some of the worlds most iconic brands. These brands are all rapidly growing pan asia and as such this role will be focused on ensuring that these brands are successful in reaching growth objectives from a distribution and logistics perspective.ﾠ This encompasses the management of 3 DC across Asia ,plus the ongoing collaboration with the Global logistics team in the greater business unit which focuses on the export from Asia to support all other geographies.  It is critical that you have executed a new DC build and go live implementation in China during your career.

The primary accountabilities include vendor management of the 3PL's and the mentoring and development of them to ensure that the strategic corporate objectives and best practice standards are embraced at a local level.

Further, engagement with the brands is critical to ensure that you are well versed in comprehending their needs and creating and executing the distribution strategy to support and fulfill those needs whilst mitigate inventory fiscal exposure.ﾠ In addition, you will be instrumental in assisting the development and execution of strategic initiatives which will include the integration of new brands, relocation of existing brands and the rationalization of facilities.

This newly created role will see you understudy to very senior EVP's from the global business which are US based and whom are working on a retirement exit over the coming 12 - 18 months. As such you will be committed to learning as much as possible from them whilst you have this phenomenal resource available to you and as you set the course for the next 5 year plan of the region.

Your communication skills must be exceptional.ﾠ You must be known to be charismatic, mentoring, compelling and articulate as you will be engaging CEO level stakeholders through to junior emerging market operations and engineering staff. It is pivotal that you are highly regarded as having a significant sphere of influence in your professional dealings as this role is about engagement at a regional lead level as you create the strategy that effectively and efficiently deliveries what the business needs during a dynamic period in Retail - particularly in China. This engagement will transcend to your vendor management capabilities where it is expected that you have successfully worked with your partners to achieve gain share outcomes. Further, your ability to lead and grow teams will be critical as there are plan to bring under your leadership different teams from various functions across severall brands and integrate them into the APAC dedicated team.

Naturally you will need a significant wealth of Retail Logistics and Distribution experience which encompass a very deep and thorough comprehension of retail planning and allocation, intra asia distribution across various retail channels and international logistics experience. ﾠAdditionally it is expected that you are presently at a Senior Director or VP level within your organisation. It is critical that you have deep Asia based experienced and be presently based in Hong Kong.
