The successful assistant underwriter will be provided with opportunities to have overseas trainings and participated in inter-departmental meetings whenever required. 

The Assistant Underwriter in the Marine Department provide expert underwriting, responsive local claims support, local/network servicing and administration of International Marine Insurance Programmes.

Major duties will include:

• Handle a portfolio of renewal and new business of International Marine Cargo Insurance Programmes.
• Communicate with network partners in more than 10 Asian countries, both as Producing Underwriter and as Servicing Office
• Negotiation with clients and brokers
• Administrative support and maintain efficient documentation and filing systems in the department
• Operational support to ensure continue quality improvement and efficient departmental operations
• Any other ad hoc tasks as assigned

Required Profile:

• A Diploma/University degree from any discipline;
• 1-2 years experience in insurance industry &/or Marine knowledge preferable;
• Good interpersonal skills;
• Willing to learn and grow with a leading European Industrial Insurer;
• Fluent spoken and written Cantonese and Mandarin as well as English;
