Pernod Ricard is looking for a Demand Planner , based in Hong Kong, for its Global Travel Retail Asian Teams.  

 

Reports to: Finance Director , Asia, Global Travel Retail                            Department: Finance  

POSITION SUMMARY: 

The role of a Demand Planner is to support the process of managing demand signals for products to effectively drive the Supply Chain as well as provide an accurate demand plan to guide the gross sales (shipment) plan. The Demand Planner will also play a role in the Sales Inventory and Operations Planning process (S&OP) by collaborating with the Supply Planning, Sales, Marketing, brand companies, and Finance Teams to ensure alignment in strategy between the forecast and financial plans.

The Demand Planner is responsible for supporting the business strategy by leading initiatives covering sales forecasting up to new product plan launches and all systems development in such a way to improve the service to customer and add value towards the supply chain.

The Demand Planner will establish procedures and/or opportunities for streamlining forecasting activities, S&OP process and increase performance.

 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSILBILITIES:

Demand Forecasting :

  • Manage the forecasting and planning process, lead the implementation and drive the improvement plans in terms of process, system and people skills. Develop tools and processes designed to support forecast accuracy. Lead the analytical process and determine how to optimize the process to attain the highest forecast accuracy with a variety of inputs.

  • Maintain SKU Market and Customer group forecasts in the system as part of a monthly process cycle for a specific product category or channel.

  • Communicate ongoing forecast changes to stakeholders in the Supply Chain, Sales, Finance, and brand companies’ teams.

  • Set and lead effective processes top coordinate with all functions in order to achieve efficient, accurate and timely execution of projects and product launches in line with defined timings. Lead in the creation of new product forecasts and their contribution to the product categories. Monitor and manage new launch codes from creation in the system to ship.

  • Assess actual sell thru performance in comparison to plan to determine variances and relay findings; for ongoing items make recommendations based on findings for forward forecast revisions. Assess new launch influence on existing products or categories for cannibalization or growth in complementary product areas. Share relevant new launch insight and learning with brand companies and marketing teams.

  • Evaluate evolution of the brands and sourcing complexity, recommend comprehensive action plan to minimize portfolio complexity.

     

Faciltate/Lead S&OP process for business unit

  • Conduct and execute the Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) process for the business. Lead a daily, weekly & monthly cadence of Operations Plan and Executive S&OP engaging at the appropriate level for the businesses orchestrating action, integration and alignment on priorities. Responsible for training and development of organization relative to understanding critical concepts and principles of Sales & Operations Planning Management

Reporting

  • Ensure proper analysis of sales performance and deviation roots causes. Prepare various reports - KPIs (key performance indicators) as well as diagnostic measures to analyze and recommended courses of action for the operational forecast.

  • Publish Monthly forecast accuracy reports

  • Identify key issues which require immediate escalation to sales

 

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor degree , Major in Supply Chain or MBA is a plus, Experience in FMCG is preferred.

  • Experience: Minimum of 7+ years broad supply chain experience; Good presentation skills; Good project management skills; Good commercial knowledge; Strong influencing and negotiating skills.
  • Strong excel skills required, JDE experience a plus
  • Strong analytical skills required.
  • Languages: English is a must.
  • Expectation of travel is: 10-30% of time
