Job Description

The Position

Reporting to Atkins Asia Pacific Strategy & Business Development Director, the Corporate Development Manager supports senior management with the definition, analysis and execution of the growth strategy for the business across Asia Pacific. Initiatives include both organic growth opportunities and external projects such as M&A and partnering.

 

The position involves significant interaction with senior stakeholders across the organisation and requires strong financial and analytical skills along with the ability to work independently. With the engineering and construction industry undergoing rapid and far-reaching technological changes, this is an exciting opportunity to help shape the future direction of the business.

 

Responsibilities

-        Strategy: Evaluate new business growth opportunities and help formulate strategic business plans, including market entry and market positioning, in both traditional businesses and emerging digital opportunities.  

-        M&A: Conduct financial and strategic analysis of potential M&A targets with the opportunity to manage Asia Pacific transactions including coordinating the due diligence process.

-        Business development: Support Atkins’ ‘Win Work’ initiatives by embedding new working methods and tools that help the business to more effectively win work.  This includes implementing a Key Account Management  framework to maximise the business’s organic growth.

-        Ad hoc support to director and C-suite level executives including preparing strategic briefing notes for upcoming meetings, analysing competitors and partners, and providing thorough research on a range of topics (e.g. One Belt One Road)

-        Other business development activities as required, including the opportunity to support new digital service lines.

 

Requirements

-        Undergraduate degree; professional qualification such as in finance or accountancy would be an advantage.

-        Professional with minimum 5 years’ work experience in a Big4 accounting firm, management consulting firm, corporate development or another engineering company. Those with 3-4 years’ experience will be considered for a Senior Analyst position.

-        Strong analytical capabilities, number sensitive and detail minded.

-        An excellent communicator with good interpersonal skills and able to develop effective working relationships with senior stakeholders.

-        Able to gather, distil and present large amounts of information efficiently.

-        Culturally reflexive, with an international mindset and the ability to work across borders and cultures.

-        Fluency in English, with strong written English a must.

-        Proficient user in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint.
