Job Description

Come work at the world’s most respected gemological laboratory as a Trainee Analyst in our GIA Hong Kong Laboratory located in Central Hong Kong. Being a Trainee Analyst you will be participating to maintain instruments to ensure reliability in accordance with manufacturers and department instructions to maintain a constant availability. Having chance to learn and understands the concepts behind each instrument in use in GIA Colored Stone Departments. You will have to collect and supply valid high quality data to the gemological staff in accordance with protocols. 

 

 QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS

 

  • Experience in operating advance gemological instruments is a plus;
  • Experience in operating advance analytical instruments is a MUST;
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry;
  • Solid chemical laboratory experience is a MUST;
  • Knowledge gained to a Bachelors or Masters level of Analytical chemistry, Solid State Physics, or one of the Earth Sciences and some statistical abilities;
  • Ability to give as well as accept and learn from constructive criticism;
  • Accurate, detail-minded and good concentration skills;
  • Ability to get along with a diverse group of individuals;
  • Basic computer skills and ability to work with a microscope and other gemological and analytical instruments;
