Donor Development Fundraising Manager (Donor Retention/Individual Giving)

The Role: You will be responsible for taking our operations in individual giving to the next level. Possessing excellent marketing experience in donor care and be both hands-on and strategic, the candidate will leverage Save the Children international expertise and reach to achieve targets. This role offers the opportunity to progress to become an integral part of the leadership team to foster a leading team approach to individual giving.

Reports to: Director of Partnerships & Philanthropy

KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY

Direct Marketing strategy, planning, and campaign management
• Develop and implement a donor development plan that encompasses all aspects of retaining and increasing the value of our current supporters.
• This plan will encompass a renewed supporter journey for all new and existing supporters in order to maximize retention. This will involve understanding current attrition trends, and developing strong content that engages our supporters at critical touch points.
• Expand and improve our upgrade, reactivation and delinquency campaign management.
• Managing our cash appeals.
• Develop a middle donor programme and undertaking a more focused strategy on stewarding our major donors.
• Manage income and expenditure budgets and forecasts for all individual giving programmes.
• Ensure campaign activity is executed on time and within budget.
• Scope out potential for legacy income and scope out the potential for building a legacy plan.

Analysis and Reporting
• Work with other team members to develop more robust reporting to better inform the team’s decision making process to help drive revenue growth.
• Contribute to efforts to improve the functionality of our database to improve our results reporting.

Digital
• Work to help better integrate digital into our donor development strategy so that we are utilizing the capabilities of digital to increase our retention and raise funds.

Donor care management
• Work with the Donor Service Manager in order to explore opportunities to improve the donor experience as part of the retention strategy.

Integration
• Ensure integration with other departments to ensure that the donor journey is logical and that we are maximizing our ability to communicate with donors and potential donors with all of our touch points, making use of all mediums.

Team management
• Support the development of the team
• The Digital Marketing Officer reports both to the Donor Development Manager and the Donor Acquisition Manager. Ensure that this dual reporting function works well, with clear liaison and priority setting.
• Seek to recruit new members to the team over time to build the capacity and expertise of the team.
• Create a positive and dynamic working environment for the team

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
• Degree holder in Marketing, Business Administration, PR/Marketing Communications or related discipline
• Must have a minimum of 5 years fundraising experience in the non-profit and direct marketing sectors as well as experience in managing a team and vendors
• Must be both strategic and hands-on to direct and execute the daily responsibilities
• Must be able to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks independently and be a team player
• Excellent command of both written and spoken Chinese (Cantonese) and English.
• Capable to prioritize tasks and adapt to sudden changes of work requirement, such as putting up an appeal within 48 hours during onset of emergencies / large scale disasters
• Lots of initiatives and with a can-do and adaptable attitude
