Job Summary

Reporting to the Head of Finance, the Group Purchasing Manager is responsible for the stock procurement and inward freight 

This person will own the Procure-to-Pay process, manage the inward freight of stock into Singapore, and supplier relationship management. This role provides critical support to all business divisions of the Group: Retail, B2C and B2B.

 Job Scope

 Own the Procure-to-Pay Process

• Design and implement procedures to optimise the purchasing cycle
• Ensure stock levels are adequate for all 3 divisions of the business

o  Inspect the levels of stock to identify shortages and projected demands

o  Buy and replenish stock based on business requirements

o  Monitor performance of all SKUs

o  Analyse data and work with Business Unit Managers to anticipate future                  demands

Manage the Merchandise Review Process (MRP)

o  Lead the MRP to drive new product selection and pricing review

o  Facilitate MRP on monthly basis with nominated managers

o  Implement recommendations from MRP, including adding new vendors and purchasing new stock lines

• Manage relationships with all suppliers

o  Evaluate suppliers to achieve cost-effective deals and maintain trust relationships

• Work closely with the Commercial Analyst (Inventory) to ensure the timely replenishment of stock levels across the Group to facilitate sales growth

• Coordinate Inward Freight of Stock
• Manage the upper stream of the Supply Chain for the Group
• Manage the relationships with logistics partners

Pricing and Promotions Strategies

• Work in tandem with Operations and Business Unit Managers to formulate pricing strategies
• Work in tandem with Group Marketing to plan promotions strategies

Reporting and Budgets

• Regular reporting of Purchasing cycle to Board and Senior Management Team
• Assist the Head of Finance in preparation of annual budgets

Requirements

•  Proven Purchasing experience, with specific expertise in Fresh produce from countries like Australia and Europe
• Proven ability to implement process improvement initiatives
• Track record of good supplier relationship management
• Hands on experience with managing purchase orders, goods received and suppliers
• Degree-qualified, or equivalent professional qualification in relevant discipline
• Minimum of 3 years’ specific experience in same industry, or 5 years’ relevant experience
• Candidate must be able to work in Singapore
