Senior Business Development Manager (Global) – base in Shenzhen, PRC

 

Position Summary:

  • The Global Business Development Manager for Restaurant & Retail will be responsible for developing a Global Strategy for Restaurant & Retail and working closely with end users, DJ’s and designers to ensure the Company solutions and products are specified and sold into the top Restaurant & Retail venues around the world.   The Restaurant & Retail market include Nightclubs, Bars, Karaoke Lounges and Live Music venues, and includes all solutions that can fit into these markets.
  • The role will require to work with all four Regional Sales Offices and the four BRIC countries to support them in their local efforts, both from Regional accounts and Global accounts.  Where there is crossover into other CSU’s like Touring, then the Global Bus Dev Manager will adopt a positive one team and one Company approach.
  • Working closely with the Marketing Solutions team to ensure the solutions required to be number one in this market across all categories.
  • Building a pipeline of projects in globally in CRM that will drive future revenue and sales in the Restaurant & Retail space, and managing key Senior level end user accounts personally.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Work with four regional offices and four BRIC country offices to define and implement Business Development strategies to most effectively create demand for Company Solutions specific to the needs of the regional market.  Where there is no dedicated resource for Restaurant & Retail then the Global Business Development Manager is responsible for working with the local Hospitality or Solutions SBU teams to create this.  Identify significant revenue opportunities, effectively communicate product solutions, and aggressively work the opportunity.
  • Responsible for building relationships with new & existing customers targeted at the Restaurant & Retail end user accounts.
  • Manage existing key global end user relationships and continually bring onboard new global customer accounts.
  • Visit potential customers, make presentations, identify key decisions makers.  Effectively promote Company Solutions with all levels of management in these accounts.
  • Always have the client’s best interests in mind and bring a commitment to understanding and driving the success of end-user key initiatives and organization.
  • Build a pipeline of future projects using CRM and work with channel and consultant teams to ensure this can be executed well.
  • Use CRM to manage business, including pipeline growth, moving opportunities through the sales cycle, recording customer information, sales activities, etc.
  • Attend and participate in end user industry forums, conferences and events around the world and represent Harman’s leading interest in the Restaurant & Retail market.

 

 Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in marketing, business or related industry field.
  • Minimum of 7 years experience working in the Electronic/AV/Audio/Hospitality/F&B industries
  • Experiencing in handling large scale of F&B/Hospitality project portfolio is highly preferred
  • Currently or previously worked in a large MNCs environment
  • Knowledge of audio, video, lighting and control systems within the Restaurant & Retail market is essential.
  • Self-Motivated and operates with speed, prioritization, open-mindedness, collaboration, and courage.
  • Must be organized and detail oriented, with proven experience managing change orientation.
  • Ability to open doors and schedule frequent meetings with end-user decision makers.
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly ramp up to speed and learn appropriate technologies as well as business acumen specific to the market.
  • Ability to interface with technical teams and internal departments across various time zones to ensure customer success.
  • Excellent internal and customer-facing communication skills
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office
  • Fluent in English
  • Base in Shenzhen and able to perform global traveling
