Purpose of the position:  

This position supports the CIM Department Head in the quality and effective implementation of projects related to child protection, life skills education,  community inclusion/rehabilitation and contribution to WV ministry strategy. The position has to work closely with other sectors and other internal departments to plan and lead the development of quality programming through innovations, contextualization of project models and building evidences via engaging in the input from local partners.

Responsibilities:

• Identify and engage with partners at local and international level for project implementation
• Work closely with CIM team to ensure all CIM projects are in progress with mutual support
• Collaborate with Design, Monitoring and Evaluation (DME) in the development, monitoring and evaluation of CIM projects
• Manage CIM project activities in terms of design, monitor, evaluation (evidence building), budgeting and execution
• Provide high quality internal and external reports for department head, donors and partner to demonstrate accountability
• Identify new project initiatives, programming products and funding needs, prepare proposals and communicate with funding partners
• Represent WV China on the subject matters to engage with other NGOs, government bodies and other entities within WV for maximizing ministry impact on child protection, life-skills education and community inclusion/rehabilitation
• Identify and engage in higher level collaboration with provincial partners, INGOs, and LNGOs in mainstreaming of WV’s project model or technical initiatives
• Advocacy & public engagement is needed and work closely with Advocacy team through building evidence of project impacts in relation to the issues advocated by WV (related to child protection, life skills education and community inclusion/rehabilitation) at national and regional level

 

Requirements:

• Bachelor Degree or above in Policy, Public Administration, Social Sciences or equivalent fields, preferably focusing in child welfare and development, social work
• Minimum 5 years of experience working (including project management) in specific technical subject matters (e.g. Education & Life Skills, Child Protection Programming, community inclusion/Rehabilitation and etc) or children related services
• Knowledgeable in the subject matters’ landscape: government’s direction, policies, challenges, opportunities in programming, development and status of CBOs in the subject matter
• Understand issues on the subject matter, children development and child rights in Asia and international context and relationship to policies in China
• Knowledge of project management and experience in project design and proposal development
• Proactive and dedicated to coach a team of technical specialists who are with different cultural and technical background
• Strong skills for relating and working with children
• Self-motivated, good time management and organization skills
• Excellent command in written and spoken Chinese (Putonghua) and English
• Frequent travel to China is needed
