Job Description

Drive the process of implementing large and complex regional client programs. Create and manage a smooth process for bridging the sales and operational activities involved in on-boarding new regional clients. Secure new business and increase conversion success via engagement with the commercial leads to close and pursue new and additional business.  

Manage large scale multi-faceted projects that both add value and create competitive advantage for our clients' business, whilst driving additional revenue streams into the Damco organization.

Create an environment of innovation and rapid response to client’s needs based on a deep awareness of their business from both a tactical and strategic perspective.

 

Responsibilities:

Project management

  • Drive complex implementations for new and/or additional business across locations in the Asia region.
  • Establish and measure the project milestone progress.
  • Establish and evaluate the success criteria for the program and adjust solutions and timelines as needed throughout the implementation.
  • Establish project team including leaders for each workstream and define roles and responsibilities.
  • Engage and manage global stakeholders across geographies on global implementations.
  • Escalate exceptions and scope creep to product and commercial teams.

Relationship Management

  • Establish, maintain and develop strong relationships with client globally but primarily focused on locations in the Asia region.
  • Act as the clients’ center of gravity on implementations and issue resolution.
  • Plan and execute regular client meetings to discuss process, issues, mitigations to risks, and introduce development opportunities.
  • Ensure flawless customer service to ensure client retention through the achievement of agreed KPI’s.

Operational Engagement

  • Ensure infrastructure for new and additional client solutions is in place.
  • Ensure initial SOP compliance across all locations.
  • Introduce best practice sharing from other implementations including working jointly across the organization to ensure optimized operations and products are delivered under the highest quality service possible.
  • Commercial Engagement
  • Maintain oversight of the commercial pipeline to identify potential upcoming large size and complex client implementations.
  • Engage in the closing sales process to assist in securing new wins by representing the implementation methodology and process.
  • Work closely with the commercial teams to understand the state of the sales pipeline and the specifics of potential new clients in order to prepare to meet their needs.
  • Support the Solutions Design team during the tender stage and contract negotiation to ensure credible operations are agreed and delivered.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 8 years’ experience in logistics including international supply chain management and forwarding services.
  • Proven experience in large scale project management on implementations and prior experience in supply chain solution development.
  • Good commercial and operational business sense, a genuine interest and passion for customer business.
  • Advanced proficiency in project management tools including MS Project, Excel, and PowerPoint. Strong IT understanding and capabilities.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills. Well organized and independent to prioritize and meet deadline.
  • Ambitious and result oriented self-starter with initiative and strong drive.
  • Able and willing to travel based on business requirements.
  • Excellent in both written and spoken English.
