Job Description

Responsibilities 

  • Work closely with sales and pre-sales team to ensure installation or implementations is done in accordance to customer’s requirements and schedule;
  • Recommend, configure and supporting Quantum software/hardware products to meet customer needs;
  • Respond to phone support requests from Quantum partners and customers on Quantum products and provide on-site or remote support;
  • Gather problem descriptions, log files, configuration and analyze them in order to determine root cause of problems and finding solutions;
  • To take ownership of technical issues and when necessary to escalate issues to the correct technical or managerial level to ensure customer issues are resolved in shortest possible timescale;
  • Have deep understanding of the technology behind our solutions;
  • Provide training to customers as and when required;
  • Provide on-call support outside regular business hours as and when the need arises; and
  • To travel overseas to assist in regional technical matters as and when required.

 

Requirements 

  • Minimum a Diploma or Degree in IT or Computer Science similar field or equivalent work experience level;
  • 1 to 3 years post-sales service experience with IT storage products or other relevant skill set;
  • Working knowledge of networking and SAN, fiber channel technology and SCSI;
  • Ability to multi-task with several critical customer situations at the same time;
  • Ability to work independently as well as contributing as a team; and
  • Good communication skills (both verbal and written) and ability to work with an international team.
  • Graduate with minimal work experience but possess good academic results may be considered.

 

Additional desirable but not compulsory skills

  • Knowledge of Quantum StorNext;
  • Backup and archiving application implementation knowledge/skills;
  • Experience in vendor or technical support environment with trouble ticketing systems;
  • Working knowledge of MS Windows 2008/2012 system administration and troubleshooting skills; and
  • Working knowledge of backup applications such as Veritas NetBackup, Commvault, CA, or Legato Networker.
