Job Description

We are now looking for a Vice President, Global Quality base in Asia.  This position will develop, implement, maintain and improve Isola quality organization, systems and overall processes to ensure quality products are delivered to our customers.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Actively facilitate and participate in improvement of new product development processes, CIP activities and design for quality/reliability/test initiatives. 
  • Direct customer interaction at our factories as well as customer sites world–wide. Marketing of Isola’s quality message to suppliers, employees and customers is a key requirement of the position. 
  • The position requires active and continuous interaction with manufacturing, engineering and marketing to ensure quality and reliability requirements are well defined, understood, incorporated and met in our processes. 
  • Define and specify the implementation of standards, methods, metrics and procedures for inspecting, testing and evaluating the precision, accuracy, and reliability of company products. 
  • Manage and improve company-wide quality metrics that measure key performance indicators (KPI) for operations, engineering and sales. 
  • Drive Design for quality, test and reliability objectives into the new product introduction process. Ensure that development core teams build quality and reliability objectives into product goals at the beginning of the development process.

          Position Details:

  • Lead the cross-functional Executive Quality Council 
  • Maintain and analyze customer return and failure rate data – work closely with engineering to monitor and resolve top warranty issues 
  • Develop and maintain cost of poor quality metrics (COPQ)
  • Work closely with R&D and Supply Chain to ensure that all purchased products are adequately tested before receipt
  • Improve supplier quality through monthly metrics, supplier quarterly business reviews and comprehensive supplier audits. 
  • Introduce and champion the use of SPC techniques globally
  • Prepare, analyze, and present data analysis reports to upper management and Customers. 
  • Lead failure investigation and corrective action for customer related failures, and facilitate customer quality & reliability interactions. 
  • Establish customer relationships with quality and reliability representatives. 
  • Manage / improve the maturity of the Quality MGMT System & Corrective Action Process. 

QUALIFICATION –  EDUCATION,  EXPERIENCE AND/OR CERTIFICATION

  • Possess hands-on, demonstrated leadership, communication, and influencing skills and be able to communicate with ease with customers, Senior Management and all Isola organizations. 
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or physics required, MS and or MBA preferred with 10 years minimum Quality & reliability experience. Laminate or Semiconductor industry experienced preferred. 
  • Strong analytical and technical skills (a problem solver). 
  • Excellent verbal / written communication, interpersonal, functional team building 
  • Strong and thorough knowledge of quality engineering disciplines, including: Quality data collection, Pareto & data analysis / trending, Customer Quality interface, failure reports, 8-D, statistical concepts and methods, inspection methods & tools, mechanical and electrical 
  •  Strong and thorough knowledge of quality improvement tools, including: 
    • Champion design quality tools, including D/PFMEA, DFX, Poke-yoke, New Product Introduction 
    • Statistical decision making methods including process capability analysis, MSA and DoE 
    • Continuous improvement and structured problem solving such as 8-D, fishbone, and other quality tools 
  • Demonstrated experience in effective collaboration with design, development and manufacturing organizations particularly as relates to design for manufacturing and reliability. 
  • Knowledge of 6 Sigma methods and techniques, process control systems, process capability, measurements and analysis, FMEA, preventive action, and continuous improvement programs required. 
  • Advanced skills with all MS Office Products, especially Excel and PowerPoint 
  • ASQ CQE, CQM, CQA, CSBB CRE preferred
