Essential duties and Responsibilities:

• Supervise all research and development projects for Cato Overseas Ltd; 
• Responsible for timely development and execute on-trend merchandise;
• Present the seasonal key product trends on a timely basis;
• Regular travelling to vendors, mills, printers and exhibitions to build a good sourcing network and up-to-date in the market;
• Expedite and manage development/sample/production process;
• Proactive in bringing design and development suggestions to VP of Design in US Office;
• Create design/development in real time to supplement design efforts;
• Adhere to timelines, uphold design integrity and high quality design execution throughout the entire development process;
• Manage, train and develop the Product Development team;
• Communicate with appropriate partners throughout the development process to ensure samples are made, which lead to adoption;
• Work with mills to research & develop new fabrics in real time,  
• Support trends identified by design team in US office.

Requirements:

• Bachelor degree  above in Fashion Design or Textile or related disciplines;
• A Minimum of 15 years' solid experience in product development of apparel products, candidate with experience in merchandising will be a definite advantage;
• Hands on experience in US buying office preferable;
• Good understanding of yarn, fabrics, mills and factories/suppliers, in terms of their product range, prices and lead times is a must;
• Be resourceful, energetic, well-organized, analytical and competent; 
• Good communication skills;
• Candidate with less experience will be considered as Senior Product Development Manager
