Job Description

Role Purpose:  

To support the development and implementation of a learning and development strategy within Hong Kong and Asia, as well as responsibility for Global Programmes. 

Key responsibilities:

  • Work with Head of HR, Asia and Global Head of Learning and Development on a robust and integrated talent management for Asia.
  • Carry out specific training needs analyses as required and develop and implement key learning interventions.
  • Develop and implement the learning and development plan, from continued needs analysis.
  • To recommend and introduce effective mechanisms for evaluation of interventions.
  • Design, develop and deliver relevant employee learning and development programmes where appropriate. Includes induction, management, leadership, specialized skills and custom programmes for internal clients.
  • Provide culture relevant trainings, like cultural awareness and orientation to expatriates.
  • Where a project demands the job holder as a resource, to personally lead the learning development process.
  • Manage external training suppliers through the process of delivery needs analysis, design and evaluation. 
  • Take a role in marketing and communicating the HR Learning and Development portfolio within the business and HR team, providing reports as appropriate.
  • Drive innovation and delivery mechanisms which deliver cost effective learning interventions and which reflect people’s differing learning styles.
  • Accountable for the effective management of individual learning interventions within budget and at competitive unit costs.
  • Accountable for learning and development spend and monitoring actual against budget.
  • Work with the Global Learning and Development Team to ensure consistency of delivery in all areas of learning and development.

  • Strong influencing and negotiation skills. Able to challenge traditional approaches sensitively and present new and credible solutions.
  • Strong business orientation. Credible with executives, directors, senior and middle managers and able to build strong relationships with clients / HR colleagues.
  • Strong consultancy, diagnostic skills.
  • Knowledge and ability to manage all aspects of the learning and development life-cycle.
  • Specific knowledge of the latest thinking on learning and development concept tools and techniques.
  • Strong client service focus.
  • Strong team player.
  • Strong programme and project management skills.

Education:

  • Degree / relevant experience
  • General HR or Learning & Development qualification

Experience:

  • Minimum 5-10  years experience in a Learning and Development role
  • Evidence of designing and delivering of training programmes within a company
  • Internal/external consultancy experience desirable
  • Project management experience
  • Languages - fluent in English, Cantonese and Mandarin
  • Budget management experience desirable
  • Experience in a multi cultural environment highly desirable
