We are looking for a talented and collaborative Frontend Developer to help our team making a big impact platform. The ideal candidate will have large-scale front-end applications and server expertise. The candidate will work with the APP development team and R&D team together to provide a location based recommendation platform.

Our agile teams are cross-functional teams consisting of agile software engineers, data analysts, and University researchers who collaborate together and work with our various lines of business to ship working code. As such, we are looking for people who have a passion for growing their skills, tackling interesting work and challenging problems.

Essential Functions: 

• Implement a location based Data Management Platform for shopping malls and public bodies
• Implement APIs and SDKs for client platforms
• Rapidly architect, design, prototype, and implement architectures to tackle the content management platform
• Research, experiment, and utilise leading data management or server-side methodologies (using JavaScripts or efficient web technology)
• Implement floor plan management and visualisation using front-end or scripting languages
• Experience in Cloud platforms (such as IBM Bluemix, Azure, AWS)
• Developing software libraries OR APIs for use by other developers in other teams or organisations
• Maintain security and data privacy
• Implement and test data processing pipelines, and data mining / data science algorithms
• Self-starter enthusiastic for a broad spectrum of challenges
• Ability to develop new and innovative applications as well as debug and refactor existing code
• Knowledge in Internet of Things (such as Raspberry Pi), Artificial Intelligence and Visual recognition technology
• A strong foundation in Computer Science fundamentals with deep knowledge of server-side technology and data structures, algorithms and object oriented design and development paradigms
• Demonstrated experience architecting, developing and deploying internet-scale, distributed and mission critical services

Qualifications :

Education/Required Experience :

• BS in Computer Science, Information Technology, or EE, or relevant industry experience is required
• Experience in floor plan / map management system
• Experience in frontend visualisation functions is a plus
• Experience in NoSQL (e.g. Mongo) and SQL
• Experience in scripting and automation tools, including bash, Python
• Ability to work efficiently under Unix/Linux environment, with experience with source code management systems like GIT and SVN
• Experience in Node JS is a plus
• Experience in mobile APP development is a plus
• Team player who works well cross-functionally with others at all levels of the organisation
• Excellent strategic thinking, analysis, and problem solving skills.

Communication Skills :

• Very strong verbal and written communication skills, including negotiation and  presentation 

Reasoning Ability :

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, good understanding of different frameworks, algorithms and their usage in solving business problems
• Proven ability to work independently; designing, developing and deploying solutions, and to deliver projects on time with minimal direction

Other Skills :

• Innovative and creative, able to champion new ideas and initiatives within an energized, collaborative and entrepreneurial environment
