Job Description

SUMMARY:

The Regional Quality Assurance Manager will oversee two regions including APAC (Asia Pacific) and MACE (Middle East, Africa, and Central Europe) and work from our regional office in Hong Kong. This position is responsible for ensuring the quality and safety of all food served to guests. This individual will focus on developing suppliers and ensuring food safety down to the store level. This position develops and implements food safety and quality assurance programs, policies and procedures related to the Dominos international franchise program. The ideal candidate will have a strong QA background in the food industry and understanding of franchise operations, as well as 7-10 years of experience in at least one of the two regions.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

(25%) Food Safety Auditing & Compliance:

  • Lead quality assurance audit program at a regional level.
  • Proactively identify food safety risks by monitoring 3rd party certification process; proactively develop mitigation strategies and ensure those are communicated to relevant stakeholders in a timely fashion.
  • Conduct audits of key existing suppliers’ in-region manufacturing facilities, identify improvement and compliance opportunities, and develop specific action plans and compliance deadlines. Ensure action plans and deadlines are communicated to relevant stakeholders in a timely fashion. Obtain samples, as appropriate, for testing in either Ann Arbor or 3rd party lab facilities.

(25%) Product Quality/R&D:

  • Partner with franchisees to ensure the quality and safety of all food served to guests by assisting in the development and implementation of compliant food safety and quality assurance programs, practices, standards and specifications.
  • Proactively identify compliance opportunities on the part of international franchise partners, suppliers and store, and ensures corrective actions are implemented within an appropriate time frame.
  • Train franchisees on how to drive continuous improvements in food production, processing and handling procedures to minimize risk and improve quality.
  • Proactively analyze KPIs and audit results in your region to identify potential risks and improvement opportunities.

(20 %) Supplier Development:

  • Proactively develop suppliers for key commodities (cheese, sauce, meat toppings, etc.) that are collectively capable of supplying Domino’s quality product to all stores in your region. Proactively communicate with active suppliers to ensure they are up to speed on any process or product enhancements.
  • Communicate Domino’s Pizza’s proprietary formulas, specifications and quality standards to suppliers. Conduct evaluations of manufacturer’s proprietary production controls, quality processes and product analyses to verify that the manufacturer is capable of meeting Domino’s Pizza standards.
  • Partner with Manager of Product Quality to troubleshoot all core product quality issues (dough, etc.) identified through testing and audit programs or through stakeholder inquiry to maintain product quality and consistency.

(10%) Franchise Business Development:

  • Provide leadership for the continuous improvement of our product quality and food safety standards from farm to fork; play a leadership role by proactively providing guidance on potential enhancements to the Product Quality team; and be an evangelist of the standards with relevant stakeholder groups.
  • Partner with relevant stakeholders to design and refine quality and food safety 1st, 2nd and 3rd party audit programs at all points along the farm to fork continuum.

(10%) Develops Talent & Teams:

  • Recruit and develop a strong team capable of meeting business objectives.

(10%) Measures & Reporting:

  • Document all pertinent information (including food safety and systems audits) in a complete and timely fashion ensuring its quality and accuracy.
  • Write and provide report to supplier after audits. Include corrective actions for deficiencies and a timeline for completion.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • BS and/or MS degree in food science, microbiology, agricultural science, chemistry or related field required
  • Minimum 7 years food quality/food manufacturing experience
  • Prior people management experience required
  • HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points) certification and strong knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices, Good Laboratory Practices, Standard Sanitation Operating Procedures,
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with a diverse group of people
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Proven ability to identify opportunities, set goals, work independently, and be self-motivated
  • Strategic thinker
  • Problem solving and decision making skills
  • Project management skills including the ability to prioritize and organize, create action assignments, verify completion of tasks and follow up
  • Travel up to 80%
  • Facility with MS Office programs and technologies relevant to fulfilling Quality Assurance responsibilities
