The Job 

• Carry out fermentation research and development for optimization of protein expression
• Use molecular biology and cloning techniques for the optimization of vectors and production strains
• Perform fermentation for the routine production of recombinant proteins
• Conduct the scale-up of fermentation processes
• Maintenance and upkeep of fermentation and related equipment
• Planning, coordination, preparation, review and completion of process development-related activities and documents
• Establishing and maintaining SOPs, training documents and batch records.
• Prepare the Chemistry, Manufacturing, and Controls (CMC) documentation for new drug submission
• Perform other duties assigned by supervisors

The Person

• M.Phil. or above in Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Pharmaceutical Science with at least 2 years experience in biotech related research
• Positions offered will commensurate with qualification and experience
• Experience in QC tests or protein characterization is highly preferred
• Experience in pharmaceutical industry preferred
• Knowledge of ICH guidelines and cGMP is an advantage
• A high level of self-motivation and strong organizational and reporting skills
• Ability to independently implement experimental protocols, troubleshoot and problem solve experiments with guidance from supervisors
• Ability to work as a team and effective in communication with peers and management
• Good command of English and Chinese, both verbal and written
