Senior Manager- Social Compliance and Sustainability

My client is a top-tier garment manufacturer who supplies to numerous international fashion brands. With strong manufacturing capabilities and sophisticated best practice and systems in place, this client has a highly sustainable business outlook and continues to add resources to fuel future growth. A rare opportunity has been created for a senior manager to lead their corporate social responsibility and environmental health & safety function.

Reporting to the General Manager, your role is to develop and implement the social compliance policy for the group covering safety, health and environmental subject matters.

Key Responsibilities:

• Drive and upgrade current policy and procedures and get internal and external stake holders buy-in for proper execution
• Be the centre of excellence for Ethical Sourcing in the organisation and build the culture of continuous improvement
• Understand the industrial trend such as wage study, carbon inventory and environmental management system, "Detox" study and prioritise programs for implementation
• Developing the training material to support successful implementation and long term sustainability of solutions

Desired Skills and Experience:

• 10 years of relevant experience with exposure in a manufacturing environment
• Knowledge about social compliance policy and code of conduct, manufacturing and ethical trading practices
• Experience in leading a Low Carbon Manufacturing Program or managing complex business change or projects will be an advantage
• Familiar with related local laws in China and preferably other major offshore countries
• A team leader and player to manage and uplift the existing team
• Strong communication and fluent in both English and Mandarin
• Able to travel frequently
