Job Description:

Reporting directly to our Managing Editor, you will be an integral part of the Localiiz content team. You will undertake much of the day-to-day researching, writing and uploading of content, and be expected to pitch great original story ideas, interview, and attend events on occasion.

Editorial Assistant Duties:

• Research and write small articles and social media posts in-house
• Upload content to the website following SEO best practices
• Interview subjects and write more in-depth articles on occasion
• Find great content for social media and articles, and pitch original story ideas
• Manage social media posting calendar
• Keep admin and internal databases organised and up to date

Skills/Qualifications/Personal Qualities:

• A University degree in Journalism-related studies and/or at least one year’s professional experience in the field
• Native English speaker with excellent writing and self-editing skills essential. Cantonese language an advantage
• Interview experience preferred
• Natural self-starter, with excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
• Ability to work to strict deadlines and manage multiple tasks
• Creative thinker is a definite plus
• A thorough knowledge of Hong Kong is desirable
• Knowledge of Photoshop, MailChimp, Excel and basic html desirable
• Knowledge of websites and social media platforms preferred
