Job Description

Role Purpose

The Creative Assistant Designer, researches, colour, fabric, silhouette/fit and detail trends  to support the Creative Designer in creating the individual product design concepts as part of co-ordinated Collection. Ensuring that the product lives up to the style and quality expectation of the end consumer and is commercially accepted at the point of sale.

The purpose of the role is to support the creation ongoing collection of product designs, in line with the Global Creative vision, Seasonal trends and our Design DNA principles

The Creative Assistant Designer is an entry level professional who has the strong ability to balance creative art with commercial science.

 

Organization and key relationships

 

The Creative Assistant Designer reports into the Creative Design Manager and creates the individual product designs for Europe (Asia/Japan)Collections

The position is based at the corporate headquarters in Hong Kong.

Apart from Creative Design Managers and Creative Designers, the Creative Assistant Designer works closely with a number of functions and people across the organization. The Creative Assistant Designer is an integral part of the operational Europe (Asia/Japan) team such as:

  • Brand Managers
  • Product Developers

 

Areas of responsibility

 

  • To research and deliver latest trends in colour, fabric, pattern, silhouette/fit and details to support  Creative Designer in creating detailed product designs as part of a seasonal collection in line with the Triumph Global Design DNA and Process across Europe (Asia/Japan)to continuously provide opportunities and sources of growth , and deliver against the Corporate and Business Unit KPI’s and Targets
  • Continuously drive the European (Asia/Japan) Creative Design positioning and values across the business and within the organization which stems from supporting the Creative Designer to deliver top class trend research and product designs as part of collections that follow the strategic and seasonal trend and direction platform.
  • Ensure understanding of the Creative Design strategy and guiding principles of the Triumph Business Unit are followed into the product design research in order to deliver one cohesive Creative Design proposition across color, fabric, trim and style.
  • Maintain personal skills,in line with the benchmark for the European (Asia/Japan)Creative Design Organization across our Core Competencies of Trend, Color, Design, Fit Understanding principles which engages the broader organization .
  • Support the Creative Designer to effectively partner and collaborate with Product Development by assisting in the creation of the product design spec packs to ensure that we are consistently delivering against the Service Leader Corporate proposition via efficient processes, reduced time to market and engaging and inspiring product offers across all channels for our consumers.
  • Assist the Creative Designer to deliver clear creative and commercial product designs by collecting relevant new trend information and reporting on the competitors by regular market visits which will able the Designer to ensure we are supporting incremental growth opportunities via consumer and distribution segments and consistently set the benchmark for European (Asia/Japan)markets in terms of innovation.
  • Utilize exceptional understanding of the female clothing and Creative Design business units to provide insights and deliver competitive advantages and economies of scale for Creative Design Triumph.
  • Jointly establish and foster a collaborative, inspiring and energetic teamworking style amongst colleagues that promotes initiative and entrepreneurial thinking in line with the corporate shared values of honesty and trust.

 

Measures of success

The Creative Assistant Designer will be measured on his/her ability to:

  • Support the Creative Designer by delivering inspirational but relevant trend, colour, fabric, pattern, silhouette/fit and detail research to enablethe creation of inspirational, understandable Creative Product Designs in line with the Seasonal Trends, Global Creative Vision and Design DNA for Triumph Creative Design Europe (Asia/Japan)ensuring that the product lives up to the style and quality expectation of the end consumer and is commercially accepted at the point of sale.
  • Support the Creative Designer to ensure delivery of Creative product designs to the Asian Product Development team On Time in Full through a continuous review of milestone and deadlines

 

Requirements 

  • 1/2 years+ experience in the Intimate/Apparel/Fashion Industry
  • Successful team working experience
  • Trend Researching experience
  • Functional expertise in Creative Design
  • Design Tech Sketching skills
  • Fashion/Lingerie/Textile Design to degree level +
  • English essential / other language +
  • High drive + result orientated
  • Exceptional consumer and competitor understanding
  • Ability to inspire via strong communication skills
  • Highly self-motivating and organized
  • Able to travel frequently
  • CAD Design skills : Photoshop/Illustrator for product/print and pattern
