Job Description

The role of the APAC Sourcing Coordinator is to execute the regional sourcing strategy for product development to support the bulk production of multiple categories that meet our brand quality standards. The APAC Sourcing Coordinator will work closely with peers in the strategic business units, merchandising team, design team, and innovation team to turn ideas into great merchandise.

 

Responsibilities

  • Review with APAC Sourcing Manager the seasonal category strategie
  • Participate in all related category meetings to develop a sourcing strategy
  • Communicate to purchasing and vendors raw materials to be ordered for seasonal development
  • Manage Product Development time and action calendar to meet key milestones
  • Monitor on-time delivery of development prototypes and sales samples
  • Collaborate with Design and Fabric R&D to troubleshoot seasonal style issues
  • Communicate adopted styles and delivery requirements to production teams
  • Communicate pre-booking or early fit requirements for style exceptions to cross functional team
  • Communicate to merchandising and planning about raw material and production minimums for adopted styles
  • Confirm order/quantity placement and T&A for adopted styles with production teams and vendors
  • Utilize cost matrix by category during proto plan discussions to direct Design and Merchandising on raw material selection and style development to meet category cost and margin goals
  • Negotiate prices and coordinate right choice of vendor
  • Ensure initial costing for all development is put into the Line Sheet
  • Utilize all Global and Regional Sourcing tracking and costing tools
  • Communicate to cross functional team style exceptions not meeting margin goals
  • Analyze and summarize post season vendor performance by semester

 

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree & relevant industry experience require
  • Domestic and International travel required up to 25%
  • Minimum of 3 years of Global Sourcing experience in softline;
  • Advanced knowledge of manufacturing and product engineering, trade regulations, testing protocol, product integrity, production cycle timeline, calendar management, fabric construction and manufacturing
  • Managing the sourcing function including offshore raw materials and finished goods, experience in the Asian market
  • Establishing credible relationships with suppliers, customers and employees
  • Ability to recognize trends in market conditions, pricing and futures markets
  • Time Management: Ability to organize and prioritize multiple projects
  • Detail Oriented with strong follow through
  • Solid working knowledge of systems, quality and supplier management
  • SAP experience is a plus
  • Fluent in English, Cantonese and Mandarin
