The Group: Managed Investment Data

The Role:

The Fund Data Team requires a Local Data Research Analyst to drive Morningstar data in the local market. The employee will collaborate with all global and local teams. The Local Data Research Analyst will build relationship with providers, demonstrate our capabilities and quality, and return the voice of the local market to the Global and Central teams. The position will be based in our Hong-Kong office.

Responsibilities:

ü   Familiar with data process, and know the data sources of most data points

ü   Update and maintain investment data and databases

ü   Manage relationships between Morningstar and fund/ insurance companies and data vendors.

ü   Liaison with internal, external; and oversea counter parties to ensure timely delivery of data and projects implementation.

ü   Handle client expectation and queries; work closely with Product/DM/XOI teams to track and resolve data issues.

ü   Review and implement quality assurance process; to ensure the accuracy of our database and products.

ü   Manage projects focused on enhancing our database in order to meet changes in our industry and client’s needs.

ü   Prepare documentation for internal processes

Requirements:

Candidates should have a strong interest in the investment world, strong analytical and math skills, and excellent communication skills.

The skills required to be successful in this role include:

ü   Solid understanding of financial industry and passionate in investment data

ü   Ability to demonstrate client centric approach and previous experience in project management is highly preferred

ü   Good command of English and Cantonese speaking is mandatory.

ü   Good writing, communication, problem solving, organizational, and analytical skills.

ü   Strong learning capabilities, Interest to learn the complex structure of numerous investment vehicles.

ü   Self-motivation in an independent, fast-paced work environment.

ü   At least two year working experience

ü   A bachelor’s degree or equivalent is required.
